Mike Hamer’s Three Blogs

For the past few years I’ve been looking for blogs about trains, with mixed success. Earlier this year I noticed that Mike Hamer, an Ottawa-based (and therefore nearby) model railroader who’s had his Boston & Maine-themed layout in Model Railroader publications a couple of times, had started a blog about his layout, replete with some really good photography.

Well, as it turns out, he has three blogs. He also has one about his railfanning, with both travel and trackside photography. And the Ottawa-area Friday Night Group, a collection of model railroaders who meet to work on each other’s layouts, has a blog as well, to which he is a frequent contributor. With all due respect to Mike, I have to confess that this last blog is my favourite, full of stories of fun and mischief. You can tell they’re enjoying themselves. And the photos are awfully nice, too.
