Railfans are such shutterbugs, so no surprise that photo-sharing site Flickr has a huge number of groups dedicated to rail photography. Here’s an incomplete list of some of the groups I’m aware of:

• Trains
• Trains and Trolleys
• Trains at Night

It says something about human nature that on any community site there are invariably dozens of groups for any one topic where only one or several would do. On Flickr, photos are uploaded by individuals and then added to groups and photosets; many railroad photos end up posted to all these groups. A lot of overlap.
