Atlas of Alberta Railways

A bit of an off day for me today, so here’s an oldie but a goodie that I posted on The Map Room last March that you simply cannot miss. The Atlas of Alberta Railways is a collection of more than 200 maps depicting the history (and development) of railroading in Alberta and the rest of western Canada. These first-rate maps were created specially for this web site by University of Alberta geographer Geoffrey Lester, and have been decades in preparation. Plenty of historical material, too. An absolutely top-notch site, well worth an extended visit.
