Map of the Star Wars Galaxy

This map of the Star Wars galaxy (or, in insiders’ lingo, the Galaxy Far, Far Away or GFFA) is probably not “canon” (i.e., official), but it’s sort of interesting anyway. Via Cartography, who didn’t think much of it.

Speaking of fictional maps, there is a lot of mapping efforts going on at the online game world of warcraft. One very interesting piece of software is called “Cartographe” which is a mapping wiki. Everyone who uses the software is able to add annotations to an underlayed map, and change all the information on the map. This would be a very intersting tool for large cities where things change quite fast.
