Yesterday’s Grauniad featured a review of three mapping books with a heavy emphasis on the art of cartography: Charles Booth’s 1889 Descriptive Map of London Poverty, a London Topographical Society reprint that for some reason isn’t on their site; Peter Whitfield’s new Cities of the World: A History in Maps, which collects maps and panoramas from 60 cities; and the Taschen reprint of Blaeu’s Atlas Maior (see previous entry).
