On TechCrunch, Frank Gruber compares the features of five online mapping services — Ask, Google, MapQuest, Windows Live Local and Yahoo! — and draws the following conclusion: “Overall, Yahoo Maps was by far the best application tested. Its fast Flash interface, multipoint directions, live traffic information, and easy send-to-mobile feature make it the hands down winner. I’m not sure I agree: if Yahoo! is ahead, it’s not necessarily by far; and for users outside the U.S. the Yahoo! feature set is considerably weaker: Canadians, for example, will get better data from Google and Microsoft.
