Hurricane-Ready Sea Surface Temperatures, Aug. 1, 2006

Earth Observatory’s weekly mailing is a good way to discover some of the latest satellite imagery, both true- and false-colour; this past week, there was this startling look at ocean temperatures in the hurricane zone. Yellow and up are above 28°C, and as such conducive to hurricane formation.
