Following previous lists issued by Harvard and Yale libraries, the New York Public Library has issued a list of missing antiquarian maps and a list of rare books from which maps have been taken. I don’t have any background with which to contextualize this announcement, though I expect it’s a result of the inventories taken after Forbes Smiley’s arrest, and I wouldn’t be surprised if they were waiting until after Smiley’s sentencing to issue these lists.
