Platial has introduced MapKit, which integrates their service, built atop the Google Maps API, into your web page or blog (though there seem to be issues with certain blogging engines, including WordPress and Blogger). It looks profoundly easy to set up, and, once integrated, it can include reader-submitted pushpins, video, imagery and so forth.
