The National Geographic Society sponsors several awards for cartography students through cartographic societies. 2007’s winner of the National Geographic Award in Mapping, awarded to undergraduate and Master’s-level students through the Association of American Geographers, is Cassie Hansen of the University of Nevada, Reno.
