Custom Icons for Google Maps

Custom icons for Google Maps. Ostensibly just fun, but this can be quite practical. The standard set of icons is useful but limited: imagine, for example, adding a set of map symbols from another source.

Hi Jonathan -

I’m one of the creators of stickymap.com and we’ve just updated the number of available icons on our website.

We’re a google maps based site that aggragates content generated from users and community groups. Since we’ve been around, I think it has turned into an interesting resource. Plus, we had the thumbtacks before Google!

Anyway, check it out and great job on your blog. As a map enthusiast myself, I find all this stuff very interesting.
