TomTom has received the go-ahead from the European Commission for its takeover of Tele Atlas: AP, Bloomberg, Reuters. In a nutshell, the existence of a competitor, Navteq/Nokia, would remove any incentive on the part of the merged TomTom/Tele Atlas to pull any anti-competitive shenanigans.
