Mike Parker’s ‘On the Map’ Begins Monday

Mike Parker’s radio series on maps, On the Map, begins on Monday the 22nd (not the 23rd as I previously reported) on BBC Radio 4. The list of upcoming episodes gives a sense of what will be covered (for more, click on each episode). I don’t know whether this series can be listened to online, but I imagine that we should check these links once a few episodes have been broadcast. Via Collins Maps Blog.

Thanks for the heads up.

Domestic BBC radio can usually be listened to around the world - either live streaming (something I often do for their satirical news programming), or as pre-recorded “listen again” links (typically documentaries, or Dr Who / Douglas Adams re-runs). The “listen again” links usually go live just after the programme has broadcast although it might take a few hours. A lot of programming is usually only online for 7 days. So I would try to listen ‘live’ or wait until Tuesday/Wednesday to try listening to them.
(BBC TV is a different matter: international broadcast rights usually get in the way: which means living in the US, I can only see the Olympic events that NBC think I might want to watch, even though as a UK citizen I’m usually interested in a different event…)
