B.C. drug plan to cover TNF drugs for AS
The Vancouver Sun reports that British Columbia's provincial prescription drug plan will cover adalimumab (Humira), etanercept (Enbrel) and infliximab (Remicade) for patients with ankylosing spondylitis who meet the criteria of the plan's Special Authority program.
Update, March 8: Reaction from the Arthritis Society, which says that they and others have been lobbying the government for this decision for years.

You know, I'm thinking we shouldn't be so concerned about meeting the criterias that would allow us to use the drug, as we should be about whether or not testing has been extensive enough before they even market these new drugs.
Because we suffer, we become the desperate lab rats who will then suffer once again, the consequences of multiple side-effects. Because as we all know, there ARE always side effects associated with these drugs. Some of them are even permanent.
I myself, have been 'drug-free' for about a 1-1/2 years now, and I've gotta tell you, I'm none the worse for wear.
Sure I'm in the midst of one hell of a flare up, but I'd have flare-ups even when I was taking the drugs.
Anyway, I just wanted to say that I was glad I stumbled upon this blog, and equally so to discover that you're from a neighboring town!
