This was one of the symptoms that led to my AS diagnosis. I was so photophobic that I laid on the couch with the room as dark as possible, with a towel over my eye, for about a week. It was very painful, and the treatment wasn't exactly fun either. But at least I got a diagnosis and I'm alive. :)
