Here we go again -- First Vioxx, now Bextra

I was switched from Indocin and Asulfidine to Vioxx a few years back because I had a hint of liver damage. When Vioxx blew up last fall, I was switched to Bextra. Now, the
FDA wants Pfizer to take Bextra off the market. I haven't had serious heart problems, but then most of my other risk factors are low (I am 48 now, so that is not so good.) Wonder what's next....

  • Hi Prof.
In the same boat as you. Had GI bleeds and felt that Diclofenac and Ketoprofene were not helping the symptons. Also, been having gut and bowel probs. Various internals revealed nothing interesting. Now on ARCOXIA and concerned about the cardiac situation. Have found life more tolerable with arcoxia but i would rather deal with a GI bleed than a stroke. I'm 57 so you've got a few more years left if the pills don't get you first.
I'm seriously considering dietry changes and spending out on a full blood test to see what i'm allergic to and fashion a new dose of food.
Do you have any views on this?
    Cheers - Mike
