Councillor with AS re-elected

In case you were wondering, Gary Bosworth, the Desert Hot Springs, California city councillor with ankylosing spondylitis, who the outgoing mayor said should not be re-elected because of his condition (see previous entry), was, in fact, re-elected on November 8. Bosworth, who was running for one of two open seats and was one of the incumbents, received the most votes (782, or 20.31 per cent), beating out seven other candidates (the top two were elected). Not only did Bosworth receive more votes than any other candidate for the two council seats, despite his narrow plurality he got more votes than the winning candidate for mayor.
