Iritis Journal

Ankylosing spondylitis, as we know, affects not just the spine and SI joint; peripheral joints (for example, in my case, heels and wrists) and the rib cage can also suffer inflammation. So too can the eye -- many of us also have iritis or uveitis (see previous entry). You may therefore be interested to know that someone has started an Iritis Journal over on LiveJournal to talk about their iritis, which in their case does not yet appear to be associated with AS or another rheumatic disease (via).

  • Hi... thanks very much for the plug for Iritis Journal. I read your blog as well and it's an honour to be mentioned. More than that though, its important that personal accounts such as ours are out there to put a human face on the disease. Keep up the great work.

I'm still evaluating my iritis/pain connection to AS and will have more information after I see a rheumatologist at the end of this month.

    Best, J.
